Check out this guy in the Lexus in Waimanalo yesterday. I was in the company van at the time (big, clear view!!).
I threw together this quick page after this incident:

I saw someone do the same thing in traffic yesterday morning. It was also a Lexus, but a newer model with a white guy at the wheel. Well, not really at the wheel since both hands were on the magazine or report.

Crazy drivers these days. Just yesterday I seen a car with the muffler dragging on the ground on the freeway. The driver thought I had some road rage against him when I was motioning him what was going on. All he did was,:dunno I hope he didn't cause an accident afterward.

Brutal...worse than talking on the cell phone w/o a headset or earplug.

I knew this girl once who could put on makeup, and use a butane curling iron while driving:eek: She never did get into an accident or even come close that I know of when I was with her. On the other hand, I truely believe Hawaii has among the worst drivers in the nation. Either they don't know, or don't care.

I just hate people who think just because they have a driver's licenses, they know how to drive!
I think the DMV should revamp their license renewal program, to include updated written test, and behind the wheel testing at every renewal.
It seems they are all members of the OT club, IDI-OT club that is.
They have the cents to buy expensive cars, but lack the not so common sense to drive them.

Yeah there is definitely going on with the DMV.
If you listen to Star 101.9 FM, you might remember Hudson & Scotty B talked about this a couple of times. Hudson was at the DMV renewing her license, and in front of her there was this old man taking the eye test for the license renewal. He kept failing the eye test, but the lady at the counter kept saying, "Oh, try again... try again... ...." :az: Of course, he eventually passed the test because he went through the whole alphabet, etc. I have nothing against old people; the fact is that anybody, young or old, who can't pass the eye test, is a hazard. My mom is a senior citizen and at least she has realized her own limitations and now won't drive under most circumstances.

Uh... we don't have idiot drivers like that over here on Maui.

Well. maybe.

Yesterday, I had some bimbo try to make a left turn onto Pi'ilani Hiway and pull/bull herself into my 'two car' length space between myself and the car ahead of me.

The moving line of traffic had just started from the stop light at Mokulele and I guess she thought I had the aloha spirit for jerks.

Maybe I was wrong, but rather than slamming on the brakes and risk the rear of my M3, I pulled onto the shoulder and passed her without changing speed.

She tails me for a mile and suddeny pulls over as I see a large dog sticking it's head and body out her driver's window.

Doh!

Brian,

We have bad timing! I'm headed over to a shoot at Kualoa Ranch tomorrow morning and returning to Maui on Tuesday evening!

Do you have any time Monday evening, say... after 6PM (on Oahu)?

im notorious for doin things while i drive...all of my friends think its insane how i can talk on the phone, hold my soda, and shift gears while turning  heh but anyway...i think the worst thing i've seen people do while driving was on Kapiolani. It was kind of crowded, some guy was smoking his bong and driving. Looked like he was so focused on the lighter that he wasn't payin attention to the road...so I kept my distance, heh

If you're good at it and your lack of accidents prove so... uh, continued good luck! :buttrock
