Does anyone know if the E36 body will support a Z3 engine which I was told is the same as the M3 engine? I don't know anything about th Z engine, if it is the same or not as the M3 e36 engine. Thanks.

M3/4 LIFE 08-12-2007, 10:06 AM what year z3? does it have the s52 or s54? if it is the s52, it will fit nicely in your e36 chasis. same engine. sausrigging 08-12-2007, 02:17 PM Z3's up to 2001 had s52's. 2001 and on had s54's. My cars engine is out of a 99 mroadster (z3m) Nosa323 08-12-2007, 07:34 PM It is an S52, so it seems everything should be good. I am told it has 51K for miles. How do you verify, or is it that important? bennyfizzle 08-12-2007, 07:57 PM lets make this absolutely clear that an ///MZ3 coupe had the ///M motors as mentioned above, but there were Z3's that did not get ///M motors, of course. Nosa323 08-12-2007, 08:19 PM Yeh, the motor which I am thinking about getting is from an ///MZ3. I want to make sure that this engine is the same as in the M3 E36. NAZ1998BMWM3 08-19-2007, 07:04 PM yeah same one. you might have to buy the aluminum e36 engine mounts though. E36LUVA 08-21-2007, 01:03 PM What year E36 is it. If your going to go with the ZM3 (S52) motor it should be a 96 and up E36, its just a matter of swapping motors out. If its a 95 and under E36 you'd have to do an OBD1 conversion to the S52. jcapelo 08-21-2007, 01:09 PM you dont have to go obd1, i have seen plenty of people convert to obd2, but going to obd1 is alot easier. |
