Hey guys! Well, the Service Meter Bar has come up on my '92 325i and it says Inspection w/ a yellow and a red bar on the bar meter. Anyone know of a good quality place in the Bay Area that will service my car and not put a crater in my wallet? (Freaking 700 bucks..)

Thank you all in advanced! :D

Do it yourself. It is just a tune up. parts will run you about $150 for plugs and all of your filters. You only need basic tools, and a few hours.

I would but berkeley demands that I not (Not enough free time)

And I dun wanna hold off on a service, as it would be bad for my car... :( (I have serviced the transmission and rear differential recently though)

My control arms are wearing out last time I checked....

Fuck when I serviced that tranny, there was alot of fucking shaved metal...ugh, car still runs fine, its just...shaved metal is not good. Mom forgot to service the tranny for a long time :(:(

All you really need are some screw dirvers, and a socket set. Buy a Bentley manual it will walk you through all of the steps

Yeah Im a poor college student....between my engineering and CS classes, fraternity pledging and attempts to start my own business....I got time...hehe whew. I will eventually buy a bentley manual though. I do all sotrs of shit on it during spring break or summer. Should I hold off on the service until spring break? (2 weeks) And do it myself? The trans and diff. fluid doesnt need to be changed....otherwise I'd need a lift of some sort. Unless jackstand will work for that? :dunno

german motor specialist in sunnyvale is good. i can send you a coupon for 10% off your first visit if you want.

but i'm guessing since you go to cal, you probably live by cal. there is some place near oakland/berkeley/emeryville/alameda that does good work, but i forgot what the place is called.

edit: this is the place in berkeley: www.bavpros.com

hahaha, eh...knowing gas prices in the north bay, it'd probably be cheaper if I just went to the shop at berkeley, hehe, thanks though :)
