I've been using the Meguiar's Bug/Tar remover with great success!

Yes, any over the counter bug remover should work. Stoner's Tarminator would probably work well.

I've tried Poorboys bugsquash in the recommended dilution ratio as well as the stronger 1:1 ratio and wasn't too impressed. At least not when compared with less expensive over the counter alternatives.

You could try putting some car soap on a wet bug mitt and then apply it just to the bug splat areas. Let it sit for a few minutes and see if they scrub off any easier.

Some guys use a car soap heavy ratio with some wet microfiber towels and drape said towels over the front bumper. After sitting for 10-15 minutes, remove and wipe.

what do you do to keep the hard stuff from scratching the paint when your removing the dead bugs?

Also how does the bug/tar remover do with tar? i want to clean up my sideskirts and lower fender/door but i dont want the rocks that are stuck in the tar rolling around.

I use the PB bug squash and a Pinnacle Safe Scrub bug & Tar Pad. I wet the area down and pretreat with PB BS. I then dip the pad in a bucket of carwash soap and water. Go over all the areas and even behind the wells for tar removal. Just keep dipping the pad in your bucket of soap/water. Never had a problem with scratching/marring at all.
