Can you type it out? 882001 08-11-2007, 08:15 PM its a box with a plug sticking out of the bottom ;~) wiseleo 08-12-2007, 04:14 AM According to my EBA, this is a Window Winder Module used only with a retrofit alarm system. It appears to close windows automatically as part of the alarm. I have directions for it, if you need them. It is an E36 part. Why do you ask? Richie1404 08-12-2007, 05:52 AM I ask because when i turn my key in the driver's door lock the windows auto close and if the roof is down that will close to, so i was thinking to take this out and stop the autoclose Hugo 08-12-2007, 09:27 AM I ask because when i turn my key in the driver's door lock the windows auto close and if the roof is down that will close to, so i was thinking to take this out and stop the autoclose Only if you leave it there, no? That feature is broken on my car. millertimebmw03 08-12-2007, 09:58 AM I'd love for my top to automaticaly close!!! Richie1404 08-12-2007, 10:14 AM It's ok when the top auto close But I cant lock my car when the roof is down because it closes (well trys to close) My car had a BMW Alarm fitted when new, But its not there anymore RobHacker 08-12-2007, 11:29 AM I gotta ask a silly question....Why are you locking the car with the top down? Or is this part of arming the alarm? wiseleo 08-12-2007, 05:54 PM So you are seeking to disable the comfort close feature. Something is malfunctioning as comfort close does not happen automatically - you have to hold your key for 3 seconds or so before it happens. Try to close the car by quickly turning the key and not holding it there. Also try closing the car from passenger's side, which will not engage comfort close. I fixed my roof and find it quite amusing to watch the car close itself. :) Richie1404 08-13-2007, 03:28 AM Ok When i lock the car using the key,(i have no remote fob) even if i turn it quickly it locks then the dead lock kicks in and the magic happens, (windows go up, then roof closes) I don't have a lock on the passenger side door, so i locked the car with the trunk, and it locked the car it never autoclose, and nothing until i opened the drivers dood then it auto closed. This is another reason why i want to disable it now. Could be a fault with the locks going straight to dead lock? As you get when you hold the key in the lock. Could be a fault with the roof module? millertimebmw03 08-13-2007, 09:08 AM I can turn the key to the right (all the way) and it 2x locks and the windows roll-up should my roof also close then? I don't have any roof opening or closing from inside the car???? Brashland 08-13-2007, 01:19 PM I gotta ask a silly question....Why are you locking the car with the top down? Or is this part of arming the alarm? Because on a security scale of 1 to 10, SOME sort of locking will give you maybe a 3 vs a 1? Even if they climb into the footwell and hotwire the car, a locked/alarmed car will make things more difficult. mitch smith 08-13-2007, 04:27 PM I gotta ask a silly question....Why are you locking the car with the top down? Or is this part of arming the alarm? I roll my windows up and lock my 325 vert and my corvette vert. I don't see why that would be silly. It keeps someone from just opening your doors!! wiseleo 08-14-2007, 12:04 AM Ok When i lock the car using the key,(i have no remote fob) even if i turn it quickly it locks then the dead lock kicks in and the magic happens, (windows go up, then roof closes) I don't have a lock on the passenger side door, so i locked the car with the trunk, and it locked the car it never autoclose, and nothing until i opened the drivers dood then it auto closed. Two possibilities, none of which involve this part. 1. Central locking system, and specifically driver's lock. Most likely the lock needs to be cleaned and it's stuck in the comfort close position. 2. Comfort relay. I don't believe that Comfort Relay is actually at fault here as you would trigger it with the lock and it appears to function fine. I have TIS from which you will need some specific details on getting this fixed. I am leaning towards the lock being faulty. You would need some detailed instructions to avoid airbag sensor issues - that's why improperly installed aftermarket streo systems trigger the airbag light. WARNING: SEVERE RISK OF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. OK... so here are a few documents. You can get this same information from your dealer, if they are nice. I'll add the rest to my second message. 201886 201887 201888 201889 201890 wiseleo 08-14-2007, 12:07 AM Ok When i lock the car using the key,(i have no remote fob) even if i turn it quickly it locks then the dead lock kicks in and the magic happens, (windows go up, then roof closes) I don't have a lock on the passenger side door, so i locked the car with the trunk, and it locked the car it never autoclose, and nothing until i opened the drivers dood then it auto closed.
