I've done 145mph in an E30 M3, it was on the autobahn though, and it wasn't that hard to get there. the upgrades were, a CF box, Alpha N, cams, and a chip on a 2.3l

I hit 150 no problem in my 1991 M3. That was with a Conforti chip and no other mods. And the speed was verified by radar. Two of my Trooper buddies met me on a closed 5 lane highway and let me run my car all out on the 5 mile stretch of brand new highway.
