hi all

new to forum and to carsoft, so am looking for simple help if possible please.

i am familiar with other diag and coding progs, so should be ok with carsoft.

firstly, when i scan/diagnose a bmw with carsoft, the scan results appear in german, how can i change these to english?

secondly, i can find settings to code/swap modules for the E46 models but not the earlier E36, can anyone tell me how to do module recoding on these? the carsoft adverts and manual say it can be done on the E36 but how?

many thanks in advance

regards
james

I have no luck with carsoft.

It works but I can only read failure codes.

I think carsoft lies, just like snap on lies, about what it can do. It's not worth a dime.

Car soft is meant only for diagnostic, it is not a replacement for a GT1/SSS/ProgMAN instances.

Snap on dose lie! I regret investing in snap ons Solus system.

anyone have any recommendations to the best up to date Diagnostic system on the market?

hop on ebay and get yourself whatever you need
spend the money, its all worth it

otherwise use the info on the forums while its still available and set yourself up what you need

there are no aftermarket solutions for any euro car that work like the originals
ive tested alot that claim to be great only to be so dissapointed and send them back

GT1 all the way baby, might have cost 17k at the time but it was worth the saved money on aspirin and tums :)

There is actually an English patch for Carsoft 6.5. Check on the CDs and there might be a patch on there.

I was actually looking into the GT1 system, it is perfect, but BMW's are not the only cars that I work on. There is one complete GT1 system on ebay thats going for a little over $5500 right now.

I have been checking out "DrewTech" systems. they seems to be pretty compete...?

Nothing will match GT1!
