I pulled out an old aftermarket deck in my e30 and was matching all the wires. I connected all the speaker wires, antenna, and what i thought was the power (red wire) but when i turn on the car the deck does not receive any power at all. I would really appreciate any advice at all.

are you using a wire harness? And you will have 2 powers, red (switched) and yellow (constant) on the deck side, unless you have a really old aftermarket deck.
