Although I hate to let her go, unforeseen medical bills for my son and wife are dictating the sale. I acquired the car October 2006 with 53,000 miles and as shown above, I’ve clocked 9K since then. This is my work car which provides trips anywhere from one hour to three hours away for client visits, so many of the miles have been highway. She’s always been reliable and is a joy to drive, especially on the highway.
I would rate the car as good... paint shines, no rips or tears in upholstery, carpet is stain free. Rock chips, touch up paint and small scratches are visible upon close inspection and one small ding on the hood, normal for the age and original paint.
The only upgrades I have done include: Window Tint (35%) installed this spring, front Euro license plate and all-weather rubber BMW floor mats (Mats are for an E39 as there were none available to order through the dealer... they fit fine though, just cant use the floor clips. I have the original carpeted mats, which will go with the car.

Maintenance
Oil has been changed every 4500 miles. Replaced the windshield six months ago. Replaced front control arm bushings, transmission mounts and exhaust mounts approximately three months ago. Last week replaced the MAF air intake tube Connection and had the fuel system cleaned with the BG two-part system including interior flush and tank additive. All work has been done by a local indy specializing in BMW’s.
Known issues
I’m including this list because I would rather be honest about what I know is wrong, than to mislead anyone: Seats have the infamous twist (a no cost DIY fix, which I will be trying this weekend), Lost the telescoping steering wheel function at the same time as the seat twist began (could be related) also lost the driver’s seat heat & air lumbar function at the same time. Drivers side fog lamp has a hairline crack most likely from a rock, but still functional. The only other issue is a tiny, power steering hose leak. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic, and cannot identify everything, but this represent what I know.
Price
Asking $8,500.00 (less than my total investment to-date). This car has half the miles of other 93 740i I've seen advertised for the same or more, so the price is fair for this low mileage offering. The car is in very good shape for the year and has been a reliable daily driver since I acquired it.
