hello,

I am having problems with my drivers window as it seems that the window had become seperated from the runner as the window wont close or open when I try to do this with the switch in the console. The window also falls down quite a lot whilst I am driving and I now have to pull the window up by hand to get it up high enough. Any suggestions please??

The 316 is tough - don't know it off hand as we don't have any over here. I looked around a bit on the web and didn't find much to state definitively if it is an e36 or e46.

You can tell your production date by looking at the tag in the doorjamb of your driver's door - or maybe your passenger's, since you guys are backwards :)

If you look in your owner's manual you should have something that tells you if it's an e36 or e46. It's good for you to figure out which "generation" your car is, as the common problems and solutions will differ between them.

If you have an e36, this thread should be able to help you on the right path. If the pictures in this thread don't look like your car, then maybe you have an e46. :dunno

Regardless, the above thread may be able to help you down the right path.

Good luck!
