That was a bizarre race. The part I remember most is Barrichello's departure from third place in the closing laps. It was a heartbreaker for the rookie.

:confusedSato's pass was alot better than Zanardi's..... really, besides the fact that in F1, a pass like that would be illegal, it's nothing special about it - he got the inner line, and thats pretty much it

Well, Zanardi came from farther back to make that pass and he did it coming into a way tougher corner than Sato.

Mears vs Andretti, 1991 Indy 500.

The best battle I remember (can't find video) was a 3-way battle between Mansell, E. Fittipaldi, and Paul Tracy at NHIS in 1993. I remember all 3 making some crazy passes not just on each other, but getting through traffic as well.

Yep, that was one of them. I was at the race, and I remeber the 3 of them going at it like that for the entire race. I also remember it being a very clean race, and though there were several spectacular moves, none were particularly dangerous. It was all just good, hard, clean racing.

I don't know how you guys can enjoy Zinardi's pass, he cut the chicane?!?!? Yea they let it be legal, but that is retarded, if he overtook and kept the line thats cool, but he went off course, cut the chicane, and kept control, that doesn't mean he did a good pass, it means he decided to act wreckless and got lucky he didn't wreck when he found himself cutting the chicane and in the dirt.

This is a good fun video though that I will always enjoy.

Someone post that E36 320 super touring vid (the one that you can hear nothing but transmission whine).

Alonso pulled a few nice ones at Suzuka in 05. The one on Schumi in R130 and the one on Webber down the straight-away come to mind.

That video makes me feel claustrophobic. I cannot imagine racing against evenly matched cars which have a tendency to bunch up in such close (wall lined) quarters. Playing Forza I've crashed at Bathurst enough times to make me respect that track before ever stepping foot on it.

i agree that zanardi pass is cheap. even though it was legal and all that, it just does nothing for me.

the best battle i can think of is lewis hamilton vs. piquet and glock in turkey last year. its definitely the best drive i've ever seen.

after a spin on lap 2 he was down to 21st place and ended up taking 2nd place on the very last lap, on which he also set the fastest lap of the race. :buttrock

Mansell passing Berger from the outside, Peraltada, Mexico City 1990

I'm not a Mansell fan, either...but it was absolutely the most balls-out pass I've seen in 45 years of racewatching. Peraltada is a near flatout (and bumpy) more or less 180 degree corner.

Senna vs Mansell passes were almost always good as well.
