I have a 2004 BMW 525I and when I turn the AC it's cool but it does'nt blow air out of the vents very hard at all. It seems to bearly blow out enough to feel the air. Is that normal or is something wrong. I am a first time owner of a BMW and I like it.

I'm with BMW of North America, LLC. I've passed this message on to a BMW NA Customer Relations Representative who will be in touch with you soon.

select auto, and that should regulate the air so you can feel it, then adjust it to your preference-it always work on mine

I have had the AC take about 3 min before it even blows cold air. We are talking max AC and hot air. this happens about 1 time a week and even driving like 45 miles an hours it will take that long. I want to complain but the chances that they will fix it is slim and it has always turned cold so I chalk it up to.... oh well.

There is a bulletin pertaining to the specific issue you describe in your e60. For some reason I can't log on to find the bulletin number for you, but it outlines a test procedure for techs to follow to determine if your AC compressor is faulty or not. I work in a very hot region and have replaced maybe 10-15 of these compressors since the bulletin release a few years back. All with excellent results. Basically, BMW says up to 2 min is normal, over 2 min is not. If the system charge is found to be correct, then they authorize compressor replacement. I wish I had the specific bulletin number to reference... I believe all e60 vehicles are covered by it, but again, I'm not sure. You might call the dealer and ask.
BTW, they say 'up to 2 min' to cool because the liquid refrigerant in the system could possibly damage the compressor with an abrupt start... In my experience, even in 110' weather, it takes btn 30' to 1 min. Longer than that and there's likely a problem.

Experiencing something similar. It's like the AC goes into a standby mode and hardly any air is being pushed through the vents. Adjusting the fan causes louder sound, but not necessarily more air. Thought I was crazy, but it's happened a few times
