What do you guys use to clean this black area of your car? I noticed its very delicate and is prone to leaving scuff marks as you can see. Anyone know how to get the scuff marks out?

Anyone know how to get the scuff marks out? nickdeck 08-08-2007, 04:50 PM I noticed its very delicate and is prone to leaving scuff marks as you can see. My car has the wood trim there, but it's the same deal. Very prone to getting marred, from bracelets, watch bands, whatever. A weak point in BMW's design, IMO. Anyway, about your problem, I'm not sure. Do you know what the material is? How deep are the scuff marks? acblue94 08-08-2007, 05:34 PM Not deep at all...Its so funny because I have no idea what material it is. It seems to be a plastic of some sort but with a soft feel. PuckMan 08-08-2007, 07:48 PM Belive it or not I use Zaino AIO on those areas and they come out perfect every time. I gently apply it using a MF pillow type applicator and wipe off with a MF towel. I'ved used quite a bit of my exterior paint arsenal on interior trim. I'm still trying to kill an old bottle of 3M Imperial Hand Glaze on interior trim - wood, plastics, aluminum etc. Just don't get overly aggressive with your approach to areas like this. I'd rather do it 2-3 times with something mild than risking unsightly damage once with something aggressive to see if I can get the marring out. If it's soft enough to marr from light scratches it's most likely soft enough to correct gently too. acblue94 08-09-2007, 09:19 AM Zaino AIO- sounds interesting. Ill give it a try...but remember this trim isnt painted, its stock from the manufacturer. Does anybody think it can take the marred areas out.???? acblue94 08-10-2007, 09:16 AM bump....anyone??? Hanselhoff 08-14-2007, 12:00 AM you should be able to tell if they are deep by feeling them you could try a chip stick and some black p wax....and then seal and see what it looks like bimmerfiver 08-14-2007, 12:12 AM PLEASE...please buy and use Vinylex FTW. I do and the stuff rocks, awesome. I always do that boot and the emergency brake boot too etc. My seats are not real leather, the doors, all the trim...I <3 Vinylex. |
