Hi everyone,

I just joined the site yesterday and have a question regarding dependable / trusting shops around the south eastern PA / MD area.

I've read the sticky on top of the page and got into contact with a couple of the shops still waiting for some estimates (Pro-Imports and Bimmerworks).

Does anyone else happen to know of any good mechanics around the area you could recommend?

I picked up a '86 325es a couple months ago for a really good price and it seems like I threw a bearing out on it and since it has about 260,000 miles on it, I would like to just get a replacement 2.7 or possibly go to a 2.5 i motor or m50 route since the car just has a purpose of being a daily commuter to and from MD for work.

Thank you very much in advance,
-Justin

Try Bavarian Specialties in King of Prussia. www.bavarianspecialties.com (http://www.bavarianspecialties.com) They will be more than capable of doing anything you want to do too that car. Talk to Mike Yaskin. Don't tell him I sent you there. Are there not any reputable shops in York?

Cheers,
Ricky

Thanks for the suggestion Ricky.

York only had 2-3 shops that worked soley on European vehicles around but when talking on the phone with them, the confidence in what I was asking for didn't seem like it was there.

I have been swapping e-mails back and forth with Dan Martin so I might be taking a drive down to his neck of the woods for the work.

I would love to save the bucks and just do the swap myself but work has me out of state for the next couple of weeks and I have another vehicle project taking up my garage space, lol.

Autoy Autowerke http://www.autoy-autowerke.com/

I am not affiliated with them. I have taken my 328is and x5 to them and will continue to do so. Hard to find good and honest shops in the area.....and I will suggest them.
