I see people with there Intake heat sheild covered in the gold foil to block out heat and I have seen other parts of the engine and exhaust system wrapped in this stuff, Im just wondering exactly what is the best stuff out there and how well does it work? New to the whole track thing.

this is so low on the priority list for you........trust me don't worry about it. A few degrees here and there not going to make much difference for you.

Yeah, and for a 1ft x 2ft piece it is $33. so go nuts indeed!! ;-)

I think the whole underside of the hood needs this stuff for car shows.

If you're protecting composite structural pieces from exhaust heat, or attempting to keep heat from soaking the intake air paths it has merrit. For a street car this is certainly not necessary.

I was going to use some to put a layer on my Heat sheidl for my intake system, I already have a Heat Wrap that laces up over my intake tube but shit it can't hurt right. Add a lil bling to my engine bay

That's pretty much it. To each their own, but don't expect any improved performance from it.

I've never seen anyone use that except highly engineered race cars and the Mclaren F1.
