It says on the box that there's enough clay for 3 cars, but I'm thinking realistically it's enough for 2. My question is, should I cut the bar in half or should I just use the entire thing and save it afterwards for the second car that I will be working on?

I use 20-25grams/car, so I would say considering that there is 80 grams, I would say there is enough for 4 cars.

the mothers kit usually gives me enough clay for 4 reasonably clean cars- or 2 filthy cars :)

depending on the car.....split in 3,,,, if it really needs it that badly then use the second chunk...you'll be able to feel if it needs the second claying

I have to agree with the rest 3-4 cars (really depends on how dirty your car is). Its also great to use whats left over on your wheels.

For what it's worth, I've used the entire bar, clayed 3 times with it (once each year). I've never cut the bar in half or thirds, although I wonder how much difference this would make?

The amount of clay bar used is in direct proportions to the amount and types of imbedded containments present and if you have butter fingers. :eatpop:
If the clay bar slips out of my grasp and touches the floor it is immediately pitched into the trash. You do not want to be putting new marks into the finish. Just pitch it.

I think the person asking where to get it was referring to just the clay??? I could be wrong... In retail stores it is sold as a kit.... You are better off ordering just the clay online...

I used the Meguiars. Two 50 oz bars vs one 80 oz bar plus a bottle of quick detailer and a quality mf towel. I found that the 50 oz size is perfect fit for whole car. I am doing rims now and I have about one third of the bar at a time to get between the slats on the style 32's.

you should definetly be able to use it for at least 3 cars. Just keep folding it up and stretching it out.
