I forgot how loud open headers are!
Fired up on the first try once I figured out that the computer program still had the anti-theft stuff in it so I hot wired the fuel pump.
Only let it run for a minute or two, nice idle and the tach works http://legacygt.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif
Still a few major problems; the transmission has a problem that will either be really easy to fix or require it to be returned to the place that rebuilt along with a discussion of what it means to rebuild a transmission http://legacygt.com/forums/images/smilies/mad.gif and I need to make the exhaust or the police will show up next time.

thats sooo fucking badass, i cant wait for you to post some timeslips. great work man
Congrats!
What's up withthe tranny? RPM Transmissions right? That's what I'm running (stage IV)
RPM rebuilt the transmission. It won't shift into 1st or 2nd. The shifter moves into the plane for 1-2 but it won't go into gear; all others work fine. I called them last week and the assured me that it would be fine once the engine was spinning the input shaft. If I have to take the transmission out it is not going to be pretty :mad
I just spoke with them and it is the 1-2 shifter keys; they installed the wrong ones (they need to be ground down for the F-body transmission) Typical - a $10 part stops the whole show.

Damn, that sucks. I thought I had issues too because I couldn't get it into reverse. I had a few others try...no luck. Then one day I just decided to give it some more muscle, and it worked. Reverse in my car probably takes a good 60lbs of pressure to engage :stickoutt:
You just need to hook up the reverse lockout solenoid; otherwise the spring pressure is pretty high.

I made all the electrical connections from the harness. What else is there to hook up?
You have to make sure that it is working. There are 2 wires a +12 and a ground that goes to the ECU. The ECU grounds that at speeds below 5 mph which causes the solenoid to fire and it will go into reverse very easily. Otherwise you are fighting the heavy spring which is a PITA.

I understand what you're saying it's just weird that I experienced this. I drop out a stock transmission which got into reverse w/o any issues (but did have 3rd gear issues). Then swap in the RPM transmission and it doesn't like reverse. It doesn't really bother me that much, just something I have to warn people about when they drive my car.
If the wiring is correct then something is wrong with the solenoid; it should slide into reverse easily if the car is stopped.
awesome rao keep us posted!!
Got the transmission fixed today :)
Also, built the exhaust and it turned out pretty good :D
If all goes well it will be on the road in a couple of days.
It officially is a car again :D it runs the exhaust sounds great and I did the first burnout just to check that everything works and it does indeed :)
