Got my 2002 back last Wednesday after the seats were installed, then I installed the MOMO steering wheel, I found on ebay, the next morning. :woot:

The seats are not as grey as they seem to be in these pics, so I have to go out and take some better pics someday soon, right after a good vacuum job and wash.

There is more to do, with carpet samples on the way, but you get the idea.

I am just soooo tickled to have the E30 seats in that I can't help driving the car more than ever. :alrightbmw

I was looking at how the seats are adapted to the floor. It's not evident clearly in your photos. Care to comment on how, If I don't mind asking, you got them in there?

Thanks in advance,

Thanks in advance,

Beyer Motor Works, in Chandler, AZ, installed them. They cut the inside & outside bulkheads so the slider rails would sit down between them then they made a square frame and welded it to the remaining bulkhead and bolted the seats to it.

Extra effort was made to move the drivers seat as far towards the middle of the car as possible. Alignment with the steering wheel is almost dead-on.

Thanks for the commentary gents! :D

Looks like what I'm doing. Cut out the old mounts, weld a frame, and put it in. It seems that the E30 seats sit about 2 inches higher than the old seats. Very weird, but the E30's will just bolt right in, but it feels like you are on a tall perch...

Once I cut out the old mounts, there is plenty of room for the new frame. (made of 1.25" angle and bar) Maybe I'll take a few pics and post them if there is interest.

Great looking wheel! <grin>

Yeah.....You'd be the one to know. :D.......since I bought yours.

I didn't realize how rare the wheel is until I sent a pic out to a few friends. That's when I found out MOMO only got away with using the ///M color stripes for a short time. The Roundel police came in and made them stop. :nono

Yours was the first one I had ever seen, and knew it would look nice with my body stripes. It was just dumb luck to find one!

:thanks: for having the "buy it now" option available!!! :alrightbmw

Those seats look great in there. They look so much more comfortable than the stock seats.

The wheel looks great too!! Perfect match for your paint combo... congrats

Nice! Now all you have to do is get that rug off your dash!

Nice! Now all you have to do is get that rug off your dash!

I had a crack-free dash but sold it to buy other goodies for the 2002 and my 535is, so the "carpeted" dash can wait. There are only a few cracks but seeing them bugs me so the carpet hides the cracks nicely. Besides the carpet does have one advantage.....it holds almost anything I put in the tray, nothing slides around and flys out.

Considering I've only had my 2002 since late April I think I've done quite a bit of improvements, to include:

ROTA RB wheels and new tires
Reupholstered and installed E30 sport seats
Installed MOMO Club 4 steering wheel
New windshield
New rear windshield rubber seal
new windshield locking strips
Replaced cracked license plate lights
Installed new red rear marker lights
Front strut brace (not installed yet)
Custom aluminum pedals (not installed yet)
New leather shift knob
Plus a few other lesser items that were refurbished.

The above items were done to a well kept car that came with:

Stahl header
Weber 32/36
Crane ignition
Bosch blue coil
Driving & fog lights
Hella Euro headlights
Airdam
Lipo'd rear bumper
Trunk mounted battery

With the remaining items needed being: rear strut brace/battery holder, big front and rear swaybars, carpet, a serious paint buffing and a 284 cam.......oh, and lets not forget that dash board. :D

I am having almost as much fun with this car as I did with my M6.

You need to change the headreasts!

If you want a crack-free dash, try ebay.de and search under BMW Armaturenbrett. I got a nice one for 120 Euro (but I've seen some go for as much as 160 Euro). However, UPS air shipping back to the USA will be more than the dashboard. PS - It helps to know German fluently if you're looking for parts on ebay.de.
