I have a 1997 BMW 740i with about 190,000 miles on it. It has been well maintained over the years and I can share the maint. records documenting this. It is a grey car with a grey interior. The catalytic converters were replaced about 1.5 years ago (an over $2000 job) and the front rotors as well as brake pads all around were just replaced about 2.5 months ago - just to give an example of some of the more recent and expensive work done. The problem with the car, however, is that the transmission went out. In running condition, Kelley Blue Book value of the car puts it at over $7700 when sold by owner in "good" condition - which would be the category for this car with a running transmission. I am asking for $2500 OBO for the car as is. This could be a great deal for anyone who would want to get a used transmission from a junk yard (typically around $1000 to $1500 depending on age and mileage of trans) and either install it or have it installed by someone else. This was my father-in-laws car and he just doesn't want to deal with it and would like to just sell it as is. The car is located in Indianapolis, IN.
