You should check out the score racing forums (guys who do baja) for tips about getting across the boarder with race cars and trailers especially about getting insurance on your equipment since most us carriers dont cover things after a certain distance across the boarder. There aint nothing like racing in third world countries imo, its tons of fun.

Si!
These races in TJ are actually not bad, it's only about 5-10 miles south of the boarder. Just get regular insurance. The organizer supplies a letter that can be shown to authorities if you have any issues and they will extend all courtesies and most likely give an escort to the event site.
There is actually more hassle coming back into the US that going down to Mexico for the race. We've thought about just making a run for it and jumping the fence some days!!!!!!!!! What are they gonna do, Deport us to our home country????

Never gone racing in Mexico, but man those Canadians sure don't like 60 gallon drums of Sunnoco 100 in the trailer. Almost didn't make it, haha.

Yeah, can't take Fuel across the boarder to Mexico either. There is a Fuel truck on site with several 50 gallon drums of fuel that you can buy when there. Unfortunatly they sell it at Gringo prices.
I just checked out my data from our failed attempt to run last year and it's actually a 1.55 mile track, so it's just as long as Lime Rock. Be interesting to see what laptimes end up being as I've seen times in the past from most classes being in the 1:30's There are deffinitly lower overall speeds than Lime Rock, but we'll see after the weekend.
I'll deffinitly post Video with Data overlay once the event is over.
