just thought i'd make a seperate thread for today's drive. Not as big as last turnout i dont think but great group of cars and nice clean runs. Though I'm not an admirer of the runs since my TIME is only 1:07. I dont feel safe any faster than that with the small road.Nice day!
Apologizes to Richard if I was pushing you!!!

Well it was a gorgeous day, unfortunately only 5 cars showed up out of supposedly 8 people saying that they would participate. :( Hint if you said you would be participating and did not inform us that you were dropping out such as Ed, Frank and John, please call as we waited and waited. No one returned our voicemail. :nono

For those that turned out big thanks for making it a wonderful day, great weather, fantastic cars and good friends = A FUN DAY.

I think we all did the speed run safely and with good runs, I don't think anyone ran into anyone as we were going down. I had a goal set and I hit it 140 mph with power to go the 645 is remarkable. Woody came smoking down with a 130 mph run so sleeeeper to the max yeah right 318 badge.

Reid decided to break in his brand new Honda S2000 in style by doing a 130+ mph run now that is the way to break in a car.

Lincoln I think scared his girlfriend and her friend  and Aaron Mr.BS I am not going to go fast, unless 130 is not fast :rolleyes.

Ben, thanks for showing up and talking to the gang, sorry to hear about your 330ci ZHP.

Richard and son met us at Haleiwa Joes and joined us to Kaena Point and back up to Waipio Gentry.

Elliot are you going to get the video up?

It was my pleasure, and good to get back out and see you guys again. I am sorry about the car too, but who knows. Maybe there is a silver lining to this and I might be able to talk myself into either an M3 or a 335. ;)

Yup! It was a nice day to be with friends, cars, and an open road!
Fun going through the twisties with Reid on my Azz pushing me!!!
I hit 130 and could have done at least 140...if the road was longer!

Flex Mahalo for doing this for me so I could get my fix!
And Mahalo to the rest of the gang that came out too!

I had to finish the day off with a run through the Blow Hole twisties...but caught up with some van going - 10 mph just after Bamboo Ridge!! :mad He should have just parked that darn thing!

I drove the 930 today and hit boost while passing a car on the freeway. Oh my, I almost hit triple digits in the blink of an eye.

Sounds like you need to visit that road we were on today!
You could probably do 150, if your car doesn't take flight by then!

Nice. Again, looks like a whole lot of fun. Thanks for posting the pics. I love the scenery shots too. All our meets are cars in parking lots. :embarrasm

Looks like a friendly group. You guys should just make an official Meet/Drive pics thread, and post in that every time you go. :)

No swaps, and nothing major.

Let's see...a cone filter from eBay, a drain clean out, 3" dryer hose, 1/8" wire mesh, (all from City Mill Automotive) removed driver side headlight...and that makes up my ghetto CAI.
Light flywheel 9 lbs, 4.27:1 diff, 14" basket weaves :D, urethane subframe bushings, Extrude Hone Head & Intake, and a heavy foot!

Keep in mind, I may have hit 130, but it took some time to get there. I was in 4th at 6800 or so rpm (red line is 7K) going 120, then went into 5th reached 130 at around 6000 rpm, then it was shut down time and let my Power Slots do their thing...which they did very well!

Not sure about the speed going up the twisties, but I was in 3rd hitting the limit and about 2.5 cars behind Flex with Reid pushing on my rear bumper!

MRFLEX

Speed going thru the twisties, who had time to look at their speedometer??? On the major turns I downshifted to 2nd and hit my rev limiter at 6500 rpm, then 3rd gear down the straights until I came up on the slooooow driver in front then had to back off again to gain some room to make the car and me work as one.

I can tell you that I hit the turn so hard that I lost a screw in rivet to my Avarus wheel, thank goodness Tire Rack will be sending me some spares.

So note who ever has 2 or 3 piece wheels good practice to tighten the screw in rivets as they can work loose.

Sorry, I was too busy trying to catch Aaron since I started going a little late because I was getting used to our crawling pace and not paying attention that everyone took off already.

Yes after a while the sealant bead dries out and needs to be redone. Fikse
will do it for a price, or you can do it yourself which they don't
recommend, or I can send you to my guy in Mountain View that has rebuilt
mine in the past. Hit me offlist if interested.

And/Or those fasteners do back out after a while. I damn near hit the wall
in T9 at Laguna a few years back when some fasteners backed out. I found
multiple ones loose on other wheels that day....

Anyone have experience with the Dinan wheels (Fikse FM/5 type)? If so , do
they have a tendency to leak? I tightened the valve stems but they still
steadily loose air on both fronts. The tires are fairly new. I figure the
fasteners which attach the rim to the center sections must be leaking.

The car just really silent in some sections :D

The drive was a good time to test my new tires, Toyo T1-Rs. They handled great and a definite improvement over the stock Contis.

Actually good that you got rid of the contis they have a tendency to fall apart.
