I just bought a 1984 528e. 200,00 miles, seems ok. First, I live in Southeast Mass. I am looking for junkyards, repair manuals, etc.. I am going to start on the suspension, rotors, brakes, etc. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks- Curtis.

For used parts, and PLENTY of them: Henry's of Blackstone.

They have about 30 E28's there, and I have gotten lots of little parts there. For example, when my daughter's (now extant thanks to a poorly-driven Cadillac) '88 528e needed a new radiator, I found a like-new replacement one there for $25! I opted to pay an extra $5 for a 90-day replacement warranty.

Do you know when the timing belt was done last? If not that would be the first thing I would check out.
