Hey guys,

I've met many of you before, so you've checked out my car. I'm just trying to gauge some interest now, because I may be looking to sell my car later this year. The car is in good condition and I've performed all scheduled maintenance. Here's a brief list of mods:

Vorsteiner CSL front bumper
Vorsteiner CSL trunk (double-side carbon fiber)
Fucy CSL diffuser
Brembo GT brake kit (4 pot, front and rear)
Umnitza 6k lighting including angel eyes
OEM ZCP wheels

If you or anyone you know might be interested, let me know by post or PM.

Thanks,

Slicksweeper

Here's a few pics:

How many miles do you have on it? And any idea what ballpark the price would be? I might be in the market for a new(ish) car sometime soon...

My only concern would be the bearings. If they were replaced, it's good to go!
To me a warranty...or extended warranty doesn't cut it.

I was told by A&A Motorwerks former BMW of Hon Master Mechanics, that the 2005 was the starting year that the bearing was out of the bearing recall.

SERVICE ACTION: E46 M3 S54 CONNECTING ROD BEARINGS
SERVICE CAMPAIGN BULLETIN
Reference Number(s): SI B11 02 03, Date of Issue: December 2004
Superceded Bulletin(s): S.I. B11 02 03, Date of Issue: October 2004
SUBJECT
Service Action: E46 M3 S54 Connecting Rod Bearings
SITUATION
Due to contamination of the engine lubricating system during engine assembly in combination with unfavorable
tolerances in the oil pump, the connecting rod bearings can be damaged which may lead to their overheat and
possible engine failure on M3 coupe/convertible vehicles produced from October 2001 through February 2002.
A Service Action will be conducted on those vehicles to replace the engine oil pump, and as a precautionary
measure, replacement of the connecting rod bearings. Additionally, the engine control module will be
programmed with the latest software, which includes improved cold start characteristics. Customers will be
mailed letters notifying them of the Service Action shortly (copy of letter, Q & A list are attached).
AFFECTED VEHICLES
This Service Action involves E46, M3 coupe/convertible vehicles with S54B32 engines which were produced
from October 1st, 2001 up to February 28th, 2002.
In order to determine if a specific vehicle is affected by this Service Action, it will be necessary to utilize the
"Service Menu" of the DCS (Dealer Communication System). Based on the response of the system, either
proceed with the corrective action or take no further action.
The Chassis Number Ranges listed below are only for informational purposes and are not to be considered as
the only deciding factor

A combination of the wrong oil weight 5W30 (instead of the currently recommended 10W60) and the increased red line of 8000 (instead of the 7600 like in the M-coupe/roadster). The 2003 and up cars all came with 10W60 Castrol TWS.

Well looks like from your info any S54 from March 1, 2002 is a go!

SS,

Not good to post and not get back and at least give a figure what you are expecting for the car.

Just a reminder seems everyone is selling or trading in their M3's BMW Honolulu has about 5 M3's on their lot right now, one being a very nice 2005 ZCP with only 17K miles on it.

There were 2 recalls with the second one being for newer cars. I'd still check first.

My car had the bearing recall done...I think as long as the recall was performed there should be no issues.

The 2003+ are sooo much nicer with their LED lights though. One day I'll be able to afford them...

IMHO I wouldn't post pics of the car at the track when you're selling it. We know it's fast and does well there but we'd rather not think about it being pounded at the track. Kinda like a girl. I would rather not know. Ignorance is bliss

:D...that was his FIRST time at the track...i was joking about the racing comment...i'm in the extreme minority here, but personally, i'd rather buy a car that was raced and maintained well, rather than a car that was street driven and not cared for mechanically (sure it can be pretty as hell on the outside, but if the owner didnt do regular maintenance; to me- what's the point)...also, the person who bought my M3 looked at several and noticed that mine was in much better mechanical condition than others he looked at, and i knew the service history of it, because it got regular maintenance items/weakpoints addressed- because my life depended on it when doing track days...and as igyloo's brother put it- mine had a pedigree of wins...kinda like buying a doggy with championship lines :D...

but i know most people's perception if that a sports car was raced, then it was "abused." i see it as a car that was used for it's intended purpose...

Is it silver gray...if so, its probably mine. If you look closely its lower than the other M3s on the lot...thats cause I never put the stock springs back on it, its riding on Eibachs. :devillook

Nick,

Damn bro had I known you were going to trade it I would have bought if from you instead of the 645.

I sat in the car and it still smelled brand new. You took care of that car and yes the car is sitting lower. It is in the showroom and the 04 coupe is outside with bird crap on it.

Well, it's only a feeler right now... not sure what I'm going to do exactly. The car has about 56k miles now. Kelly Blue Book has the car around $38k, FYI... but I still haven't decided how much I'm looking for.

I share Jayson's sentiments. I'm sure Jayson and I could break a lot of "immaculate, show cars" in only a few laps on the track.

People who drive on the track are trusting their lives to their machinery, and their maintenance of the vehicle reflects that.
