Kos-motate139 03-05-2003, 06:37 AM Hehe -- where were you this summer when I was selling my tii? :) What level are you going to prepare it to? Could be a neat project. Two places to check, the swapmeet this weekend, check bayarea02.com for details, and 002 Salvage in Hayward. I was thinking a really built S14 in a 2002 tub would make a very capable SM car. Way over 10hp / lb, and a chassis that can definitely handle. Erik@EDGE 03-05-2003, 02:14 PM We are thinking FSP or SM. Depends on what we end up with. We may have some sponsors lined up. Just need a solid car with a decent running motor as a starting point. We just got a free '68 1600, pretty solid, but the motor threw a rod. Kos-motate139 03-05-2003, 02:51 PM Sounds like a neat project, if you need any help, let me know. Steve K, (bmw2002faq.com) has been racing an FSP 2002 for a while now, including at the National Tour last year, he is pretty darn fast. I'd still think SM would be quite interesting...a very built M10 can hit the 175 hp range, and S14's even better. Best of all, no smog to worry about. :) I think the long-necked diffs are a little harder to find for the '69, but there are plenty of people that will rebuild or shim them. Anyway, good luck with it! |
