Just got my 98 750 back from a complete tune up including having all filters changed, transmission serviced, oil change from Mobil 1 to German Castrol 0W-30, AC serviced, etc.
I took her out for a long drive on the freeway and with the help of my radar detector, went up to 110 mph just to see what she could do.
I was simply amazed and never thought the V-12 could pump out so much power effortlessly. I noticed the difference from before the tune up, The engine worked much smoother, thanks to the GC oil and the new K & N filters. Even though driver hard, the temperature remained slightly below the midline. GC oil really helps keep the engine temperature in check even through hard driving.
It seems that when in prime condition, the E38 V-12 performs like a 400HP+ thoroughbred rather than the understated 326HP. There is so much power in reserve even at over 100+ miles per hour.
When I engaged the S-EDC I took the 4500lb car around turns as if it was my much lighter RX-7. So much for your regular family sedan.
After that experience, I have even greater respect and awe for my 750.
