put a new headliner / dog ears / strings reset motors and everyting works fine except when the lid is supposed to close after top is folded into the well it just stays open. if i close the top everything works like it should . what is not letting the lid go down when the top is folded into the well ?

The Lid Is Vertical.......and It Only Stays Vertical When Putting The Top Down Into The Well. Top Is Folded Into Well And The Next Step Would Be The Lid Closes ........it Stays Vertical. Put The Top Up And All Is Good .

Mine has the opposite problem. Put the top down, it closes. Put it up, it stops in the vertical position with the window portion vertical too.

Sounds like if one of us finds the fix, the other will have it too.

Ahhhhhhhh I Was Hoping Ya Had The Solution.....if A Tree Falls In The Woods Does It Make A Sound?

Found that if you put a little pressure on floded top in well the lid WILL close dpwn and shut.....i guess i will have to adjust the rod that operates the soft top frame.....off to the beach will continue on sunday .

I was going to adjust the rods this weekend too as attempt no 1.

did you ever find a solution to your problem? did adjusting the soft top rods help? i have a similar situation wherein the lid just stays vertical when the rear window part of the top is also vertical. the lid closes whenever the top is inside the compartment.
