My friends 03 330xi has a problem....
Whenever he turns right, the right rear wheel locks up! He stops, puts it into reverse, a loud pop sound comes from the rear, and then he can drive fine until he turns right again...... I think it might be the diff but I'm not sure.........

could be a good time to swap the rear diff for a 3.46 or 3.15, unless he has an auto, then he's already got a 3.46

its an auto with 86,xxx on it.....

well, if it is rear diff, its cheap to swap, but i'd guess wheel bearing first and foremost.

what's the difference on a 3.46 diff to the others??

I have a 2001 325I 91,000 on it and make that sound wen I'm gong to stop make that pop noise and wen put on reverse, and for the last couple weeks is seen to get louder!!
I know the left rear axel is bad I will replace it this coming weekhopely that noise stop..
I'm crossing my finga!! I guess a 3.46 diff is not that cheap huh!!

turns out that the e-brake internals shit the bed, and the wheeel bearing is junk.......

wierd. That is a little scary. I am hoping it shit itself because of something he did, like constantly ebrake sliding or something. If not, I worry about MY ebrake shitting the bed!!!:eek:
