Hello all,
BMW Group is a major sponsor for this November's sixth annual Hilton Head Concours d'Elegance & Motoring Festival on Hilton Head Island, S.C. BMW Group will bring several makes and models to the Nov. 1-4 festival including a 2007 Rolls Royce Phantom, a 2007 328 convertible with a retractable roof, the newest vehicle by BMW, and a 2007 X5 4.8 made in South Carolina at the Spartanburg plant. New this year are vintage motorcycles, and a few antique BMW motorcycles are expected. The Concours & Motoring Festival also will feature 'track days' at nearby Roebling Road Raceway, normally closed to the public, in Savannah. It's a world-class road course, and the public will be allowed in pit areas and take laps around the course, in race cars and in their own. There will be small bore classic formula cars, historic formula cars, B.O.S.S. formula cars and racing motorcycles at the 'Hilton Head/Savannah Historics' at the 2.02-mile road course on Nov. 1 and 2, a Thursday and Friday. The sanctioned vintage race series is one of the last of the season, and drivers will compete for points. The public will be invited to take hot laps at racing speeds with certified drivers both days. Race fans will also be able to take parade laps in their own cars at controlled speeds around the raceway - so bring your bimmers! Way too many other events to report, so visit the official web site, www.hhiconcours.com (http://www.hhiconcours.com/), or call (843) 785-7469.
