I read some threads about people having problems with their automatic hardtop.
One of the things I learned that the backseat can be pulled out without any tools.:(
Today was nice sunny weather and I vacuumed the cars floor. I thought, come on let's give it a pull.:alright
It came out, but immediately I noticed sand, pieces of paper, eraser gums, childrens trading cards and unidentified sticky stuff:eek::eek: I now used large quantities of water and soap as well.
Is it normal to gather so much dirt there? Or was it maybe not fitted correctly? (car was bought used)
I put it back, and pressing on both left and right seat-cushion made a locking spring snap into position. So it seems impossible to fit wrong.

remove bottom, remove headrests, remove seat back...nothing much to it.

sounds like people used to actually sit in the back seats.

put some wd-40 or similar on the headrests when reinstalling, if they rust they can be a serious pain in the m-fing ass to get out.

yup, hard to fit wrong

under those rubber mats under the seat you find the fuel pumps and fuel sender units, also easy to get at!

Mostly caused by clogged roof compartment drains.

It was wet under my seat and rusted the wire frame that holds the foam on. I had to disassemble, derust it and paint it and reassemble.

I had colonies of ANTS and a small swimming pool under my seat. Where are the drains that might be clogged?
