Haha now I'm asking you questions. Whenever I try doing something like this with a transparent background and save it as a GIF, the edges are always really bumpy. Are you doing anything special to get them smooth?

Nothing special, I just cut it out with one of the tools and save it as a JPEG or PNG at the highest quality. I think GIFs are usually kinda low quality images so thats why its bumpy.

O really. For some reason when I try saving it as a JPEG, it won't have a transparent background.

Yeah, thats true, but if you save it as .png it will.
