View Full Version : Visiting SA in Late Oct. - Nov. 2007
Visiting your fair country in Late October. Flying in for a Conference in Johannesburg and thinking of hitting up Kruger and Capetown.
Got to love the wine! :buttrock
Any tips or suggestions? What better place then the South Africa Forum!
Looking forward to spotting some Different Bimmers...some of you have some nice rides!
fireballbmw 08-01-2007, 08:33 AM carry a gun. you're gonna be mugged, raped and have various body pars cut off and used as medicine
fireballbmw 08-01-2007, 08:34 AM haha, but seiously. maybe you should visit wesbank when you come, then you can check the racing scene here.
haha...Seriously I have heard many stories about your crime rate. :help
Mostly all true I'm sure :stickoutt
Wesbank...is that located in a Suburb of Johannesburg? Looking forward to seeing all sorts of weird and wonderful Bmw's.
So anyone? Suggestions on places to visit, eat and drink? Places to avoid?
Good shopping for the lady? etc.
Thanks.
fireballbmw 08-03-2007, 06:31 AM avoid jhb centre, dont draw cash at the airport, wesbank raceway is in alberton, 10-15 min drive.
not much different shopping unless you wanna go the whole, "i went to south africa, rode a lion and bought my woman a native dress.." route
then you can buy that stuff pretty much anywhere
fireballbmw 08-03-2007, 06:33 AM must visit a spur to chow, they got one at the airport. food there should be good for you foreigners. and carnivore in pretoria if you have time..
I hear you about the cash machines. We've pretty much travelled the world and I am extremely cognizant of such things.
On the shopping, it's a woman thing you know? Has to be one day of it.
We pretty much can eat anything. Nothing fazes us. What is good? I hear the sausages there are one of the best in the world.
How is your tuning scene? Any good speed shops for Bimmers? I would not mind perusing some. The exchange rate is very favourable for me right now. Any locally produced items of note for E36's?
What is the weather like at that time of the year ( Late Oct-Nov).
I am really excited about visiting.
Thanks again.
Just flipping through some sites trying to figure out SA Cuisine and have found out that it is much like here on the West Coast of Canada. It sounds great! A real mix of culture. Looking forward to it.
