i reset both motors and followed all of the instructions but when i hold the top button up and turn the key but not start the car a couple seconds later the windows start to jump i even tried with the windows all the way down but all you hear is the windows moving down in the doors whats going on how can i fix my top btw my car is fully automatic top 97 328i any help or input is highly appreciated

what do you mean by 'reset'?

you sure both motors are engaged?

sounds like the motors are turning, then tell the windows to go down cept the motors are sitting properly engaged to actually move the top.

anyone pull the emergency handle under the seat?

i engaged both motors, when i got the car the top wasnt working and the motors were disengaged i saw the video explaining how to re sync the top so i followed the instructions everything went alrigt until i got in the car to get the top back up automatically, the windows jump on intervals i waited until all of them went down but all you her is a ticking sound like the windows are still being lowered down into the doors. thanks for your reply

To reinitialize, you need to press the button down, then turn the key on. When the lid motors have locked it down, the top is supposed to work.

so follow the same procedre but instead of up hold the button down and in about approx how many seconds should i see movement?
