Awwwww. I want to go too! I'm doing the BMWCCA street survival thing in Atlanta. I figured since my girlfriend is doing it, I should probally do it with her. You know, to be a good boyfriend and all. Dad should still be out at Florence.

I wish all these events didn't fall on the same day, but they do tend to.:(

P.S.
Mike you got a Ti now? with a 2.8? Pics?

I'll have some pics and video up after the event. The Ti is Ellen's entry level autocrosser. The E30 will be back out sometime next year if I'm lucky.

I'm about to load up the rice cooker right now so I can get an early jump on the highway.

It's gonna be a hot one tomorrow and I don't have anything but an umbrella to fight the sun rays. Something tells me that I'm gonna come home one crispy critter tomorrow.

Yeah I'm getting ready to leave the house and can't find my big F1 umbrella, I'm in trouble with no cover today.

Great event today - Mike & Ellen it was great meeting you guys in person!

Next time you'll have to venture northward for an event up here :)

Quite fun indeed, not sure why being the only car in STU wasn't included in the "open singles" award, but very fun event.

SCCA is much more organized than most of the other clubs we seem to run with around here.

Must have been some confusion there, did you run the pax on your time to see where you would have placed in the single car class?

I had a blast. Best course of '07. The one in Greer should have been set-up like this.

Yea, i would have been #2 of 5 single class cars. But they called it 4 cars and I wasn't in it. Oh well, 2nd place is just the first loser right? :)

08-12-2007, 03:15 PM
Haha, yeah I would have been the first loser if I had run SM. But then Kiley would be mad :p I put down some good fun runs after people left. The car should be setup by next season I hope. Then we'll just have to work on Ellen.

I didn't see the 328ti run or on the results...what did it run? If you would have had it 3 years ago, I could have ran you in SM with my 330ti. When I ran it in '04..there were no bobtails at all..then BAM..3 of them at the same event yesterday.

As long as I get a trophy...I can go by any title. 1st place loser, 1st place in last, slowest time of the day (STD...ewwww).

Just give me a friggin trophy to throw on my shelf and I will go home happy.

HAHA, Ellen ran the ti at the event and it was her first real autocross so she didn't run all that well. You can see her times in Novice class. Rear tires were very iffy so I didn't run it during the event. I waited until fun runs to go push it really hard. The suspension is not tweaked properly at all and it just wanted to drift around all the turns. The next time it comes out to play it will be tuned properly. I turned a 48.9 on my second fun run before giving up on the tires that were showing cord and I had to still drive home. I noticed your name on 318ti.org but didn't realize your ti was swapped. I think it's a strong local SM contender. Fortunately it won't have a good driver in it for a few years so you have nothing to worry about. Congrats on 2nd place. I look forward to playing with you guys when I come back out in the e30.

2nd place is the best I could have hoped for. Thank god Matt Church is moving out of SM next year to race his Miata. His STi has been dynamite.

I would have liked to stay for fun runs but, with the rising heat, my stock intercooler was giving me the bird.

Are you stuffing an M50/52 in the E30? That would be the Cat's pajamas.
We could always use more cars in SM. It's no fun running with a class smaller than 5 or 6 cars.
Uncle Sam says that I won't be AX'ing again until the '08 season, but I'll be ready and able when I return...hopefully with some R-comps for the rice cooker.

Yup I have a e30 with an S52 stuffed in it already. Just gotta rebuild all the suspension before it comes out. Whenever I get to run, possibly next season, I'll be looking to stomp all of you AWD Turbo monsters. Judging from the Ti's performance I think it will be on track. That was my only event for the year so I'll see you guys next year.

BTW, here are the vids of Ellen's run and two of my fun runs. It would figure that Ellen didn't get my fastest fun run which was the second but the others are loose and more eventful. Enjoy, they'll only be up for a week or so.
