There is this lady where I work who wants to buy my 1983 633 CSI. I really like the car, but she is offering me a lot more then what I have into it. If I was to sell it I would want to buy another one. She if offering $5,000 wondering if I should take it. The car has 220K, five speed, momo wheels with brand new michilan pilot exaltos. Car needs rotors, shifter bushings, drivers seat replaent or re-uphostery, and headliner to be perfect. So, I was going to keep the car and fix these things or would I be better off taking the money and buying another. Thanks. Here is a coulple of pictures.

Holy smokes man, thats hard to decide. Did you have your heart set on something different than what youve got? That looks to be a rare color combo on the car, and it looks to be in really good shape. Is there any rust poking its head out? I mean, for that money, you can get yourself a newer one, but thats if you want it. Rotors are easy, shift bushings arent terrible either. Id say keep it if you like it that much, sell it if youve got your eye on a different style sixer.

Yeah I really like it. I might consider a 635 either Black on Black leather or Black on Red leather. Must be a manual. Would either have to have equally intereting wheels or I would have to make that investment in another. I really like the car, but I would be making a profit on it. But it just happens to be that I have a car that I have always wanted and was blessed with a good deal on it. Maybe I will keep it.

What are the differences between my 83 and the latter 88 that you mention. What are the advantages/disadvantages? Thanks.

88: More power, prettier bumpers, more modern everything.
Not sure I can think of any real disadvantages other than getting an unknown car. I can't remember if it was here or Roadfly, but I saw somebody post what appeared to be a nice '85 5-speed for sale for $4K.
Your car appears to be in nice shape overall, but $5K would be a really good price for almost any 633.

I would have to look at it this way, Is she going in to the deal with eyes wide open? I say this because I am one of these people who tends to screw themselves for being too honest. Does she know what she is getting in to? If so, most definitely I say "Yes!!". Find a late model 635 and have fun.
