I was wondering if there were any shops here in Rochester that you guys prefer to go to.
Yes, there was a thread about it but it's like 3 years old now...
Thanks!

The independent shop I go to is great, he always works on my 325i or I work on it there, He is a friend of the family and knows me since I was a baby. I recommend him to everyone.
EDIT: It's in Sleepy Hollow. Sorry.

Shops like what? Custom shops or just basic mechanic shops? Quite honestly I wouldn't trust my car at any custom shop around here, they'll go joyride in your car. As far as regular shops go I go to N&J Auto on Chili Ave, Monro on Dewey & Latta or Webster Transmission on Empire Blvd but that's only because my friends work at these places and I'm able to work on my own car with their lifts. What do you need done?

Just looking for regular mechanics, if I buy the car I'm looking at I'd need the rear wheel bearings done.

Now that I think of it, there's one place that I would trust with any of my cars. My family has gone to them for everything and I used to go there. They put my rear end in my corolla for me too. Carpenters on Chili Ave in Chili. Think their number is 247 9798. Good people there.

I've found these cars are pretty easy to work on even though all of my mechanic friends hate working on them. Heh. If you need any help, drop me a line.

I'm more confident with things in the engine but I have no experience with suspension work at all so I figured I'd just get this done, especially with a lot of people here saying the wheel bearings is a more difficult job.
If you'd be willing to help with them though that'd be awesome since Carpenter's just told me $500. Always up for a learning experience when it comes to cars. Have you done the wheel bearings before?

Eksten's Auto.... they are gvc_bmwcca recommended. You'll have to wait a while to get in as they always seem busy, but I've heard they do great work. At the local autocross, people with their modified bmws seem to go there for a lot of their work. I wanted them to do my front control arms and bushings, but the wait was too long so I did them myself :stickoutt
