As some of may have read, I sold my E28. The buyer flew in from the Big Island to check out the car and a deal was struck. We wrote up a bill of sale and he left me a $1000 deposit with the balance to be paid prior to shipping the car. That was on Thursday. Since then I have been unable to contact him through telephone or e-mail. I have made repeated attempts without success. Tomorrow I'm going to place the his deposit in a seperate account for safe keeping. My question is, how long should I keep trying to get a hold of this guy? I have had other interest in the car but have told the people the car is sold. I want to deal in good faith with this guy but my patience is wearing thin. I would be happy to return his deposit if I could contact him.

When is the car supposed to be shipped?

Maybe the buyer wants to take it home on the Superferry, which isn't scheduled to start service to the Big Island until 2008/09.

Or the buyer has to go back to harvest/sell another crop of :smoke2 before coming back with the balance, no wonder you can't reach him.

What was stated in the bill of sale, when was the balance due, not just saying prior to shipping but a date, if you have just prior to shipping then to me you are stuck.
