I just got a 535iS
The Oil light comes on, when I get it reset, then the inspection lite comes on when it is reset the Oil comes back on.

I ask a friend that owns a older Bimmer and he said either ignore it or find some one that knows how to clear out everything since it probably has built up lots of those inspection s and will do that until they are reset.

SO the question is how do I clear out everything so I can reset thme for the first time and maintain it from that point. I have tried to use the OBC 1000 and 10 buttons but it does not do what I was told it would do

I need help. Answer in here are send me a PM

I don't think the service lights are that smart... it just counts miles and then turns on the different lights... there is no memory of codes stored like an OBD system.
If it's acting wonky then chances are that the batteries that power the lights have leaked and damaged the circuit board. The fix is to replace the board.
Good luck.

Well then that a problem since it is a new board.

I had a similar problem with my lights after installing a new board (the kind w/ batteries). I bought another SI board (the kind w/o batteries) and haven't had any problems since. I think some of those replacement boards have been sitting around a while and the old NICADs have crept. Try one of the batteryless kind and see if it makes a difference.

Well THat sounds like a good idea but where do I find a batterless board at? I am like totally new to BMW stuff.
