The car has 215k on the odo. Runs well except occasionally the engine will stop running, sometimes cycling the key will get it going, sometimes you have to let the car cool down for 1/2hr before the engine will start again. Sometimes it will do this 5 miles from start up, while at others, after 100 miles of driving. The engine always cranks and the tach continues to read even during an occurance. Any ideas? Andy

Gently tap on the ECU next time it happens and see if it starts. How does it idle?

Idle feels ok to me. Since posting I've tried replacing all the fuses and I found the neg term on the battery loose and so tightened it. After 2 days of driving it hasn't happened yet.

That might be your answer. It never to hurts to have spare relays and fuses handy.

if u still have the car...it 95% the the fuel pump....just happened to me last week.....this is what u do when it turns of like that get some1 to knok on the fuel pump...if it starts up again while ur knoking on it it 100% it....to be affraid to hit hard..and fuel pump is next to spare tire cant misss it...good luck
