Is it a 95 by any chance? theruss1an1 07-29-2007, 12:11 AM If this is from the 5 series listed in your profile the wiring harness, the oil pump pick up, and the oil pan must be changed to fit into a 3 series. This would also be a non vanos engine. -Serge ArtemLepilov 07-29-2007, 01:06 AM If this is from the 5 series listed in your profile the wiring harness, the oil pump pick up, and the oil pan must be changed to fit into a 3 series. Look it up on E30M50.com if you have any more questions. The wiring harness needs to be rewired, but it is a simple procedure - I have all the diagrams to do that as a matter of fact. The motor is a 1991 BMW 525i with an automatic tranny and without vanos. It had ~130k miles on it, the car didnt smoke and the oil was not mixed with coolant. Compression numbers were taken about a year ago and they were all within 5% of 160 -Artem theruss1an1 07-29-2007, 02:02 PM Im doing a m50 e30 swap right now. The harness would be too short to put the dme in the stock e30 location from what I saw. I was taking about fitting the engine into a e36 since "95 530i PIMP" has a e36. -Serge ArtemLepilov 07-30-2007, 02:57 AM Oh yea, for an E36 swap you might as well get an E36 motor :p -Artem |
