Hi guys, the 77 630 that i asked about putting my m30 in has a new v8 in it. the owner said he did the body work and paint then aquired it. He wants to keep the v8 unless he can get money for new one.I wonder what kind of problems one might have w/the california referee? What do you think of a 6 with a small V8? ever heard of that switch.
thanks PS I am going to try to make an appt to see it and yes I will bring my camera

I think finding someone that would actually fix the car will be the hardest part, as Cali doesn't do smog on cars older than 25 years, I think.

When we put SB Chevys in Z cars in the '70's they were called Scarabs (I called them Scarries). Dry sump, no need for turbo, rubber in all 4 gears. Needed a BIG front sway bar because of the weight difference between a 2.4 inline 6 and V8.

To answer Jeepman the e12 and the e24 both have their verygood points. The e12 is quicker lighter and more fun to toss around for those reasons the e24 seems more refined. ps anybody know where the ecu is on a 91 e34 535?

The e34 ecu should be under the hood between the strut tower and windshield. It will be in a compertment with a black cover that is held down with 3 or 4 screws and also houses the control units and modules.

Also the change to the e28 style chassis made the e24 lighter then the e12 style with the exception of some of the later highline/half line cars.

Now if you are talking about the e12 and e12 chassis e24 then you are correct. The e12s are fun to play with but they are no match for the styling of the e24.
