Hello all,
I will be selling the 82 528e and wanted to advertise here.
It is black on tan with some terrible looking 17's. (Thats the way I picked it up) and full tint. The car is in good shape for its age. The interior has no rips, but minor stains on the floor. No holes/tears/sagging of the headliner. The exterior has some minor rust spots by the side door mirrors. Paint is still shiny, but bumper chrome has water spots. It is 5-speed, which shifts smooth through all the gears and the suspension is good and stiff. All electronics work and is full power. The sunroof even works and zero leaks anywhere. The odometer is the only thing that has stopped. The orrignal owner had the car for about ten years and he said the odometer stopped about five years ago with 63K on the clock. The AC is R134 and blows cold! I would like to get 1.2K, but thats stretching a bit I know. Let me know what you think and I look forward to seeing everyone again at the next meet!

I think they are the type A wheels. Don't know much about Azev except they are light alloy and are German.
Just don't think they flow right with the car.

I take it that's so you know how to install all those mods you'll be getting!
That would make a nice autox car and you won't have to worry if it gets scratched while on the Super Ferry going to the races in Maui!

On the bright side, sleeping in the E28 will be much more comfortable than the dog house! :D

That's what we tell our employees too whenever we need photos/footage.

And when they ask if it'll appear on TV, we say that "we don't have that in the budget this quarter". we just take our time editing and run it in the next quarter. :D

Ok everyone, I am having a fuel problem with the e28. I want to get this fixed before I sell to Gary, as I don't want to sell in this condition.
This is the problem, the day after I posted for sale, the car would not start. The car turns, but no start. Two possible problems are no spark or no fuel, so I first check the fuel side. Well, the pump is working strong, as I can hear it when I try to start. Don't think it is the fuel filter, since those don't clog too easy. I disconnected the fuel line, just before the fuel rail near the therostat and tried to start it. No fuel came out the line and the tube looks kinda dry. Fuse is good, but don't know about the relay. Any Ideas?????

Testing main relay

The Motronic control unit, the fuel injectors, and the fuel pump relay all receive battery voltage via the main relay. On some models the idle air stabilizer valve and the evaporative emission purge valve are also powered by the main relay. If the relay fails, the car will not start. Below is a quick test to help determine if the relay is faulty.

On all models except those with Motronic 1.1, disconnect a harness connector from one of the fuel injectors. (Your car should not have Motronic 1.1). Check for voltage between the red/-white wire of the connector and ground with the ignition on. If battery voltage is present, the relay is probably working.

If voltage is not present, check the voltage supply and wiring to the relay connector first before eliminating the main relay as a source of trouble. Remove the main relay from the relay panel. Check for voltage between terminal 30 and ground. If battery voltage is not present, check the large red wire between the relay socket and the battery. Turn the ignition key on and check for voltage between terminal 86 and ground. If battery voltage is present and no faults are found in the wires or the connectors, the relay is faulty and should be replaced.

The main relay should be in position 1 on your car, fuel relay should be position 3 just to the right of the main wiring harness on the engine side of the fuse box. Standing on the driver side of the engine, look for the relay on the top left corner above the fuse box. There may be three on top and three below the fuse box.

I appreciate the info and I will give a try tomorrow after work. I have not changed out the fuel filter yet. Would the fuel pump still work with the Main relay out? I can hear it kick on each time I attempt to start the car and when I turn it off.

Oops, why was I thinking this was a 535 e28?

I had to replace the pump in the Touring last week, this was my Calculatous-Eliminatous method.

CPS on the M20 motor should test out @ 500-550 Ohms. If it passes

Then check to see if you are getting 12 v at the pump if you have 12v = bad pump. no 12v = bad relay or wiring.

a plugged fuel filter usually lets the car start, but running and acceleration is where the car starts to fail.

Gary,
Two days prior it started, but with a little hesitation and during driving, wanted to die out. Day before that, no problems, as I was using this as my daily driver on Hickam to and from work and other places. Didn't take off base too much since I have not registered it on Hickam yet. Don't like the look of thew DOD decals on the windshield.
I am goint to try the relays first (main and fuel), then if doesn't work, change out the filter and pump at same time.

Update,
Havn't got around to testing the power to the pump yet, but have been checking the relays. I am just going t6o go ahead and change out all the car relays while I am at it. As I was pulling them out, all but one still looked like the orrigianl BMW relays! All were crusted over but could still make out the BMW stamp on them. I thought BMW used BOSCH for the relays? Anyways, I will be getting the relays tomorrow to replace. Also, visualy checked the pump and filter. The filter looks new and still white outside, but the pump looks pretty old and rusty. Hopefully it is the main pump and not the pre suction pump in the tank!!!

no... pulleys were sent to your place according to UUC...

I had a lot of packages sent to sterlings, smaller stuff, and just wanted to double check to make sure nothing showed up there by accident as both of your addresses are in my account on UUC

just checking all basis before I call UUC to try and figure out what we can do to correct the problem
