View Full Version : Who Would Win? dtothepowerofp 07-25-2007, 08:27 PM Who would win this race? (both drivers have similar skills) 0-60- 0-120- 1/4 mile- Nurburgring- snafu 07-25-2007, 08:32 PM Great pic. :buttrock I would have to go with the M in every catagory you listed. 07WhiteCoupe 07-25-2007, 08:32 PM The M Coupe would win 0-120 1/4 mile and around Nurburgring but not 0-60 The HACK 07-25-2007, 08:34 PM You'll get spanked. Bad. I assume that's an Exige S? You may have a shot at 0-120. You'll probably have a legitimate shot at the Ring due to HP. And if the driver's fat you may have a shot in that he can't even get in and fit in the car. Otherwise...Bend over. You guys should do it the old LeMans style start. It takes a freakin' contortionist to get in the Lotus. You'll probably win that way. snafu 07-25-2007, 08:36 PM You'll get spanked. Bad. I assume that's an Exige S? I'll have to revert to your info, I don't know anything other than this is a Lotus. Btw, is the "S" for sport model or what? I haven't heard of them having a letter designation. Silververtu 07-25-2007, 08:40 PM M coupe will win in both 0-120 and 1/4 mile. For Nurburgring, I think it will be close. dtothepowerofp 07-25-2007, 08:58 PM That is an Exige S with a very capable driver. On this particular day it had just a few hundred miles on the odometer so there wasn't much high revving action. Sutt 07-25-2007, 09:34 PM 0-60: I say exige-s 0-120: m coupe :buttrock 1/4 mile :help not sure...I think the Exige-s due to weight...hmmm maybe not Ring: I think M coupe Does any one have the times on the ring for these cars. I am sure they are out there some where. anpmech 07-25-2007, 10:00 PM The M Coupe would win 0-120 1/4 mile and around Nurburgring but not 0-60 +1:lol 07WhiteCoupe 07-25-2007, 10:45 PM +1:lol Its the truth! Ianbiz 07-25-2007, 11:58 PM The M Coupe would win 0-120 1/4 mile and around Nurburgring but not 0-60 +3. I wonder how much of a difference it is to 60. KPACOTKA 07-26-2007, 04:04 AM o.5 sec? MickOpalak 07-26-2007, 10:03 AM The Lotus would absolutely spank the BMW. Besides, Dan is a horrible driver! =D Itsablurr 07-26-2007, 11:10 AM The Lotus (assuming an Exige S) would take the 0-60 with a 4.1 0-60, but tracked an 8:32 at the 'ring... slower than the M coupe (8:15-ish iirc?). 1/4 mile will be approx the same since both cars have shown an array of high 12 / low 13 times. dtothepowerofp 07-26-2007, 11:30 AM Just so everyone knows...Mick Opalak is the owner of the Exige S! He joined the board just to defend his car and rag on me!!! :lol I think the Exige would pull the M Coupe to 60 but I suspect the M would reel it in above 80 or so. Since the Exige is carrying about 1200 lbs less (2000 vs 3200) it also has the advantage in braking and cornering. I'm running RA-1's so my grip is a little better than the Yokahama A048's but not by much. Either way they are pretty close in figures for such different cars. Oh, Micks car has a LSD so the inside tire spin isn't an issue in the corners. Advantage - Exige S Zuzax 07-26-2007, 11:38 AM I think, given the same time spent in the car, that the Lotus driver will go deaf faster. Frustrat1on 07-26-2007, 11:43 AM You'll get spanked. Not even the ring, same driving skills... The couple of long finishing straights on the back side aren't that long time and % of course wise. LMAO at the running start! 07WhiteCoupe 07-26-2007, 12:10 PM Some people are so funny: 0-60: Lotus 0-120: M COUPE 1/4 Mile: M COUPE Nurburgring: M COUPE Now these all have been proven times but once again it takes a good driver The HACK 07-26-2007, 01:27 PM The Lotus (assuming an Exige S) would take the 0-60 with a 4.1 0-60, but tracked an 8:32 at the 'ring... slower than the M coupe (8:15-ish iirc?). 1/4 mile will be approx the same since both cars have shown an array of high 12 / low 13 times. 0-60 the Exige S wins hands down. 4.1s vs. 4.8. Here lightweight and gearing plays a big part. 0-120...I'm not so sure. Haven't seen any conclusive numbers to prove one way or another. Quarter mile is close enough to call based on drag racing skill. The few drag slips I dug up of both cars seems to indicate high 12s, a quick recall on my brain has C&D getting a 12.7 for the Exige S and 12.8 for the MZ4 Coupe. 'Ring is no contest, there are too many sections where HP and top speed rule, and the MZ4 Coupe has both. If I'm not mistake, the Exige S takes the Ring at 8:3X and the MZ4 Coupe is in the very low 8:1X range. MickOpalak 07-26-2007, 01:47 PM Now that my Exige has twin black racing stripes it will definitely win any race. (2 stripes @ 30 hp/stripe = 60 extra horsies! Woot!) dtothepowerofp 07-26-2007, 03:03 PM I hear people are getting the Exige S from 220hp to 265 pretty easily (pulley, ecu flash, larger fuel injectors) so for a little $$$ the car can be made into a total beast. Thanks everyone for the feedback. kaiservon 07-26-2007, 05:26 PM That C&D comparo article at VIR had the Exige S up there with the GT3, 997 Turbo, Corvette times. An entirely different level than the M Coupe. http://www.caranddriver.com/assets/download/lightninglap_results.pdf 07WhiteCoupe 07-26-2007, 05:38 PM That C&D comparo article at VIR had the Exige S up there with the GT3, 997 Turbo, Corvette times. An entirely different level than the M Coupe. http://www.caranddriver.com/assets/download/lightninglap_results.pdf Car and driver sucks... Of course they make the 335 look better than the ZM because there are 4000x more of them... compare all the cars tested and the lotus and m coupe times make no sense! Frustrat1on 07-26-2007, 06:33 PM :lol:lol:lol:lol:lolLMAO, Yeah, there's way more unbiased opinion about the Z versus another car here in the Z section of a forum rather than some stupid, long standing, widely popular Magazine!!! (now here's the part where we try and say we're above the level of people who read it...:rolleyes Though should it have said the Z is a beast and the times were better, we'd all be singing about it.) Carlo S 07-26-2007, 06:42 PM Though should it have said the Z is a beast and the times were better, we'd all be singing about it.) Of course we would, because its the truth :D kaiservon 07-26-2007, 06:49 PM I just posted it, because it is supposed to be a comparison between vehicles on the same track. Which is related to what this thread is about. If you want to argue that C&D fudges about everything they write, then fine, but at least it's a "comparison" of sorts. That doesn't mean ego's in hear will allow it won't want to blow hot air at it... |
