I will have to take some closer photos and post them, but pistons are in good shape and are pretty much ready to go back in an engine. I will have to check with the USPS to let you know about shipping.

I know this is an old thread, but I had two questions:

1. How did you clean the pistons?

2. Did they come right out of the motor and mass out that far off (2-3 grams variance)?

Thanks.

Hi~

These were sold long ago in ones and twos, so they were weight matched with the buyer's other pistons anyway. They came from two different engines, but the ring grooves had not been cleaned more than just with the old ring ends. That might have made some difference. The outsides were cleaned with a very fine wire wheel with only a small amount of pressure so it would not remove any of the aluminum.

thats kinda sketchy, soda blasting is the way to go, it CANT remove material. One slip on a wire wheel and you have a new paperweight.

Well then it's a good thing I've done it allot and didn't screw-up. It is and acceptable way of cleaning pistons and shouldn't be labeled as sketchy.

I have a blueprinting book that says it is OK to use ScotchBrite.
