To continue the discussion of the front suspension on our beloved cars , Vac got back to me with a list of the component. Still no price yet , although I have asked.

Hi Michael,

I will get pictures of this kit for you. It is pretty elaborate. It includes the following:

2 Sway Bar / Strut Rod Mounting brackets

1 Sway Bar Mounting Tube

2 Sway Bar Mount Bushings

1 Sway Bar

2 Sway Bar Arms

2 Sway Bar Links

2 Tie Rod Adapter

2 Tie Rod Ends

2 Tie Rod Hardware Kits w/Bump Steer Kits

2 Lower Control Arms w/ Strut Rod

2 Control Arm Hardware Kits w/ Roll Center Spacers

I’m not sure if I forgot anything, but this is a pretty elaborate list.

Let me know if you have additional questions.

Regards,

Tony Salloum

Two questions:
1) Is this a kit for the newer style control arms, versus the older style ones that I have.

2) How much coin are we talking about...IE what is the price.

I hope there is still lower controller arm bushings around, heck for that matter hope there is still urethane sway-bar bushings around mine came w/the kit but I've heard they've been discontiued for ST sway-bars. The company I bought my urethane lower-controller arm bushings, 80&later, doesn't even exist anymore they were called "RTRS", I guess I have to be a little more carefull w/them.:shifty

if this is the same kit that Dave McIntyre used on his e21, it replaces the control arms with these tubular ones.

Yes it would be the complete setup as Dave's car

I believe it would be for the newer style suspension.

Joe,
This kit can easily be made to fit the earlier cars. If anything needs to change it would simply be adjusting the length of the front drag link, which is already adjustable.

It's replacing everything else that differentiates the 2 styles, so the only difference would be mounting location of the front aluminum sway bar blocks.

For those of you that are seriously interested in this kit, talk to some people that run (or try to run) heim joints on the street. They won't last for more than 5,000 miles.

If you want your front suspension to last longer than this, you need grease fittings and dust boots.
