I just purchased a 1975 2002. Regarding the emissions equipment, the system has been disabled by golf tees and screws in the vacumm lines and the header has been replaced. How do I correctly remove the emissions system? I want to do the job right. Are there ay DIY on this? Thanks.

Presuming your car is mainly stock (was at least before they plugged the lines...) - Your schematic should look something like this....

What carb do you have?
Hopefully it is a Weber in decent shape...
You should be able to remove all the stuff without problems.
The rest of the site...

has a bunch of info.
I have a '73. That year had no air pump (stock). I have removed the EGR and fuel return valve. I have a Weber 38DGAS and the engine runs beautifully.....
Good luck

I have a 1975 also. A previous owner removed all that stuff and put a Weber on. To my suprise, it passed the Wisconsin IM240 test twice in the last two years. So maybe that junk did'nt do much in the first place.
