View Full Version : So you want a SpecE36 chassis for $1100? I was under the impression that a non vanos M50 would make a better track engine. Double valve springs and no vanos to fail. It gives up mid range torque to the M50TU but it's all top end. I'm sure Mike can refute or concur on that. atl530i 07-20-2007, 09:38 PM Damn, done already. :( ///M3///M5 07-20-2007, 09:58 PM I was under the impression that a non vanos M50 would make a better track engine. VANOS Power or Not? :dunno I think I know what Mike would say... Matt 07-20-2007, 10:28 PM "Do you want your car to feel fast? Or be fast?" BeachBumM3 07-21-2007, 04:40 AM Car's sold, thread close. krisko 07-21-2007, 10:14 AM I haven't explored SE36 too much but those in the know think the ideal candidate would be a '93-'95 325is because you get the vanos motor and slightly less weight of the coupe. Some even are going with a 328is to get more torque and a new chassis. If I were to jump in, I'd probably want a '93+ 325i because I think a sedan makes a better race car candidate. The car is stiffer and the sedan seems to have better balance and weight transfer than the coupe. |
