View Full Version : Car Wax
BCKane 07-20-2007, 01:27 PM Just wondering if anyone uses and likes any spray waxes. I have used turtle wax for ever and am getting tired of the hand waxing. Just wanted to see what else was out there and if any products could replace my turtle wax. :help
MRFLEX 07-20-2007, 01:41 PM Kawika,
Yikes spray wax :help :mad not the way to go, sorry but sprays are for just a quick detail, they don't last and they do not protect your paint.
You need to clay bar your car that is what the spray wax is for just lubricant for the clay bar to remove debri off of your paint. I like to use a paint sealer after and then carnuba wax after to give the car that deep luster finish. I am partial to Meguiars and I use the cleaner wax in between the major detail job.
PCP JR 07-20-2007, 06:09 PM Has anyone tried Turtle Wax "Ice"
i got my car back from a detailing outfit and it looked so shiny, with a deep glossy layer". When i went back to ask them what they used, they were gone, the lot was empty. (they were by the old Wave in Waiks, across the corner from the 7-11 where a new development is going up)
Based on the description of the TW Ice, I think it was that, but I wasn't sure. Wanted to hear feedback before I got some and detailed the 110.
(The 110 gets washed with a 3M scotchbrite pad; green side to start with and yellow side to finish up. :D )
The Beastmaster 07-20-2007, 06:22 PM I use TW Ice. It is really easy to use, but not sure how long it holds up because I'm always washing or wiping the car down.

Between regular waxes with Meguiar's.
The teflon wax helps the bird attacks and road grime slide off

Pretty much what i thought. :( Guess it is back to the elbow grease method.
Thanks Gary.
MRFLEX 07-20-2007, 08:25 PM Kawika,
The way I have always looked at it is you have a very expensive and beautiful piece of machinery there that should last forever with the proper care. Do not skimp on the polishing as the paint can last forever (nothing can beat factory paint) with the proper care. And compare some elbow grease vs new paint job= OUCH in the wallet.

There's also CorrosionX's "Rejex" product for areas like wheels and bumpers; helps shiite and brake dust come off easier.
Thanks Beasty; i'll try some Ice this weekend, maybe I'll get hooked on it. :D I foresee a trip to Keeaumoku tonight to score some (at Walmart).
sterlingpaka17 07-20-2007, 08:52 PM Try the product from Pac Pro. So far I have had wonderful results. Its a product of Mothers. The Showroom shine is great after every wash, it leaves it like it was just waxed.

Thats where I bought mines too. So far I like it and it is very easy to apply.:)
99MPower 07-20-2007, 11:32 PM I've tried it, but really wasnt able to tell the difference. Having an Alpine car, its tough to see that deep gloss sometimes.
Just pick up a good polishing wheel and use that instead of hand rubbing everything. I have one, and love it... just make sure you have LOTS of extra cloths, and never use a dirty one...
Jason5driver 07-21-2007, 03:57 AM There some guys over at the E39 section talking about Eagle One Nano wax and Pinnacle...
drag0n 07-24-2007, 03:03 AM i've heard good things about zaino. i wanna try it on my next car. Its a bit pricey but seems to be well worth it...
thrlls 07-24-2007, 03:16 AM I just paint the car! :D
j/k...I clay it like Gary said, then I use a good wax and in between waxing I use some German stuff called Klasse that I got from VW of all places!
It actually works really well and brings out a very rich shine. It is also a cleaner & protectant against the birdie drops!
However, remember my car is HMAJNG!
drag0n 07-24-2007, 03:34 AM yeah i heard klasse is pretty good as well! but i really wanna try some zaino!

I heard that Klasse is awesome and some swear by it. As for Zaino I've heard a ton of good things about it in the Porsche crowd, but you gotta pay to play.
poser 07-24-2007, 04:04 AM ask 5 guys their opinion on wax and you'll get 10 different responses...
that being said, i use rejex...
Iwantoneofthose 07-24-2007, 04:08 AM righty-o, and I've been using Mothers for a while and been happy with it. There are better ones out there but for the price I can't complain.

How true...maybe we should talk about oil? :D

If anyone is interested, I've got a Zaino kit for sale.
Got everything, the initial cleaner, the final stage and the catalyst or whatever it's called.
Practically brand new.
I'll even through in a bottle of Lexol conditioner.

PCP JR 07-24-2007, 07:31 PM You wax your cars?
I almost asked the same of Iwantoneofthose. :stickoutt
Then I remembered he occasionally gets to take the company truck home, and I realized what it was that he was washing and waxing with the good stuff from Mothers.
That's dedication to the corporation.
ronin009 07-24-2007, 07:37 PM Im partial to Poorboys and P21S's products, but Menzerna and Klasse and Zymol also make good products.
rennwerkes 07-24-2007, 07:41 PM You wax your cars?
