Hi guys.. just wondering if anyone has had an experience with jerky brakes? It only happens when I come to a slow rolling stop. Just before it stops, the brakes seem to suddenly stop the wheels, bringing the car to a slight jerk.
Any comments and recommendations will be greatly appreciated..

I have noticed the exact same thing.

FWIW, the E60 trans puts itself into neutral at stoplights. (Now prepare for complete speculation on my part....) You may be feeling the sudden lack of forward propulsion if the trans puts itself into neutral and the brakes are applied (maybe a little before you've completely stopped?).

I disagree, the transmission does NOT put itself into neutral but M1. The cause of the studder is the 2-1 shift at 5mph. It doesn't happen in manual mode or kicking it into neutral. See this post

My '04 545 was doing the same thing. The old 2-1 stutter problem. I just got it back from the dealer for it yesterday and the problem appears to be gone. All the sudden my stops are smooth. Woo-hoo! They updated the software and voila! it works now. Although I will say that I'm not holding my breath that the fix will last. If you google you'll see that this problem is pretty widespread and that it seems to go away with a software update and then magically reappear a few months later.
Anyway, the upside is that I got an iDrive update that my car sorely needed. It looks and acts quite different now.
