View Full Version : M10 Turbo manifold group buy?
good & tight 07-19-2007, 02:50 PM Looking to see if anyone is interested in a group buy on M10 turbo manifolds.
I would need at least 5 people to get the price to $400 shipped within the U.S.
Same manifold that is on my car, equal length with option of T3/T4 flange and external wastegate provision. Mig welded using 16guage header pipe.
Here's a recent one. I put on a T3 w/2 1/2" down pipe to show how much room there is for changing plugs. This manifold design is proven to flow enough for over 400hp.

I know someone that may be interested......pm me the info for them
waferman 07-19-2007, 07:28 PM That looks really close to the hood..those high temps would cause paint problems, wouldnt it?
John
sent ya a PM. :)
the position is pretty similar to the proturbo.fi manifold...under extreme conditions, it might pose a problem to the hood's paint. But a heat shielding blanket or cover will lower those underhood temperatures A LOT.
elias11 07-20-2007, 04:20 AM Thats a good looking manifold. Wouldnt mind one for the 2002 but shipping would be hard to OZ, might have to get one custom made. IS that 400hp at the engine? Sure would be nice in an E21
Hadrian 07-20-2007, 04:54 AM 400hp E21 would be death

Mine is about 1" from the hood and no problem with the paint, no heat shield or hood insulation either.

those are some of the worst welds I've seen recently, even for a mig weld :eyecrazy
Yonkers320is 07-21-2007, 03:16 PM it doesn't have to be pretty to work, my car looks like crap, and it shows VWs, civics, and integras (unless motor swapped or FI) a thing or two.....
Plus I have one his manifolds too. Good&tight i'm down for another one, but I'll wait till I come back from holidays at the end of august

mig weld aren't that pretty even when done right, the welds on the manifold have to much filler for his heat range. The welder either needs to increase his heat, or add less filler. Me I would add less filler and slow down my torch movement to get better penetration. And yea it doesn't have to be pretty to win races.
G&T- what size turbo are you running? And when do you see full boost?
vtgti 07-23-2007, 12:07 AM They are MIG. Even the OP said they were. The welds are crap regardless. Such a nice piece asides from the welds. First thing I'd do is go over all the welds with my TIG to ensure better welds. I wouldn't trust a manifold with welds like that. You'll spend more time later on down the road having it rewelded when the welds crack.

I still am running the same manifold from 3 years ago without cracking. It might not look like a work of art but it functions very well.
vtgti 07-23-2007, 11:40 AM PS: It's also not equal length.
But as long as it gets the job done, then who cares. :D
CompOrangeGT 07-24-2007, 04:35 PM Ill def take one...

ProjectP 07-24-2007, 07:20 PM Do they get coated in anything? If not, how do they stand up to rust? I live in MA which is the rust capitol of the world

I bake on high temp header paint wich holds up pretty good.
320ipyro 07-24-2007, 09:01 PM how much can you get a full t3 with all the bits and pieces to make it work?

Since there are so many options with a turbo setup I just sell the manifolds.

ProjectP 08-05-2007, 11:00 AM I might buy one eventually, just got my megasquirt stuff yesterday. Not sure what flange i want tho. What are you running for a turbo on yours?

T04B. I have dual pattern flanges that a T3 or T4 can bolt on if you'd like.
