Hi: There is a Alpina c1 I am looking at, thinking about buying. It is really a major project car. Just wondering if anyone knows how rare these cars are here in the USA????
thanks for any input.

This is the second post on a C1 in cali. Must be the same car. There were far more C1's produced than B6's but they are still rare Alpina cars. Depending on how original the car is, its definitely worth looking at. Take some pics and post them up or describe the car really well so we can give you some input.

$1,500 starting for the Miami C1 I'd hit it!
actually restore it...they are rare.

The car is rough! just dried out looking & dirty, but it seems all's there.

Im pretty close to the guy, I would go look at it if he responded to my email but he hasnt. The car looks to be in horrible shape. The seats are worth that alone, but they look to faded. The wheels are not alpina wheels, so besides the seats, whats worth saving?? Im sure the exhaust is gone too.

I was hoping to hear from the owner today, but nothing so far. Since the car does not run, I have to workout some details with DAS, to see the price for shipping.

So this is not a real Alpina??? Wheels are not in very good shape, but could they be repaired?

This was modified by an "alpina licenced" shop, not alpina themselves and after it was bought as a 323, not built before it was delivered to the dealership. The history is a bit questionable.

I also like the phrase "Like many common ALPINAS " - because you can find them everywhere.... common????

Well hes kind of right about the licensed shop, but he doesnt know all the facts about the car. Like I said, I would have gone and checked it out, but the guy wont answer anyones emails.
There is some nice parts still on the car, but its hard to tell if the seats are dusty or just faded beyond repair. My guess is the latter since its been sitting outside so long and the paint looks like sandpaper. If the guy emails me Ill go take a look and see if its worth saving for anyone. I have no interest other than it maybe having the original mufflers, which I doubt it does anyway.

Well, wanted to thank you guys for the input. I kind of gave up on this one, since, I could not get a response from the seller. I did find out the car did not run, and it was in rough shape. DAS, of course, wanted more money since the car will not run:).
Well who knows could have been a fun 'project'....money pit:). Anyone know how much the Alpina front spoiler would have cost?????
thanks,
jm

Not much compared to the rest of what it needed. If the guy returns your email I would still go take a look for you.

Just heard from the seller:). Car was sold to the uk synter group(sp). They are going to restore the car. He said it was the 3rd C1 built in 1981. Well, that is some good news, at least it will not be going to the junk yard:).
thanks again for the input.
